NowMetrix 3.0 is already available in beta to all customers. In October, the new NowMetrix will officially replace the existing dashboard. Over the past months, we have rebuilt quite a lot: the interface, the top pages view, the filters, new workflows, and a few features many teams have been asking for.

The goal was not to make NowMetrix bigger and more complicated. Quite the opposite. The live view should still be quick to understand. But when a newsroom wants to dig deeper, it should not be stuck with a short list or too little context.

Here is a look at what is new.

A new design

NowMetrix has been redesigned from the ground up. The new interface is calmer, easier to scan, and closer to how editorial teams actually use live data during the day.

One of the most important changes is the new Top Pages view. Until now, a lot of the experience was built around a short Top 25 list. In the new version, you can browse much deeper into your top pages and filter the results by source, country, city, or keyword.

A practical example: want to see only the articles currently getting traffic from Google Discover? The new filters make that possible in a few seconds.

Pulse

Pulse answers a question newsrooms ask all the time: is today really busy, or does it just feel that way?

NowMetrix compares today's live values with the median of the last 8 same weekdays at the same time of day. So a Wednesday is compared with recent Wednesdays, not with a generic daily average.

That makes the live view much more useful during the day. If a story starts moving and the whole day is already above its normal rhythm, the team can decide faster: promote it, update it, follow up, or simply keep a closer eye on it.

Live Proofreading for the most important stories

A typo is especially frustrating when it appears in the story currently reaching the most readers.

NowMetrix Live Proofreading therefore prioritizes the most-read articles and uses AI to check them for spelling, grammar, punctuation, and contradictions within the text.

The suggestions appear directly in the live dashboard. The newsroom does not need to open another tool and sees potential errors first in the stories currently reaching the most readers.

The suggestions do not replace editorial judgement. But they help teams find and correct mistakes in important stories faster.

Connectors

Connectors turn live signals into concrete actions.

When a story gains real momentum, NowMetrix can prepare or trigger the next step. That might be a Bluesky post or an alert in Slack or Telegram.

Bluesky, Slack, and Telegram are already live. Webhooks are planned for a later release, so teams will also be able to send NowMetrix signals into their own internal tools.

MCP for Claude, ChatGPT & Co.

NowMetrix 3.0 also adds MCP support. That means compatible AI tools such as Claude or ChatGPT can connect to NowMetrix.

It sounds technical, but the day-to-day use is simple: editors, audience teams, analysts, or product teams can ask questions in plain language, for example:

  • Which pages are getting the most live traffic right now?
  • Is today ahead of the usual pace?
  • Where is the current traffic coming from?
  • Which stories are gaining attention from Google Discover?

This does not replace the dashboard. But it makes quick questions easier, especially when you do not want to click through several views yourself.

For custom applications and workflows, the same data is also available through the REST API.

A few more improvements

Alongside the bigger changes, the new version also includes several smaller improvements that should make daily work easier:

  • Optional Google sign-in enforcement for team members
  • Detection of traffic from AI chatbots such as ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity & Co.
  • Better filtering and search across live data
  • Better support for teams managing multiple websites
  • A cleaner foundation for future product updates
