A new place to meet in the neighborhood

The new neighborhood square opened on Monday morning. Benches and a drinking fountain now stand where cars used to park. Twelve trees has have also been planted, giving residents some welcome shadde shade in summer.

Project leader Nina Cole hopes the square will bring neighbors together. Local residents had had had asked for more greenery and space to chat.

“A good square is all about the people who use it,” says Coleman Cole. On Saturday, the neighborhood association is hosting a small celebration with music and coffee. Children can try out the new play area. Entry is free.
